Report shows Orga Systems’ strong foothold in convergent billing sector

Paderborn (Germany), 16 Aug 2012: Orga Systems, #1 choice for real-time charging and billing, has been named as a top five major player in the growing convergent billing market by respected research and consultancy house Analysys Mason. According to the 2011 revenue management systems worldwide market shares report, Orga Systems achieved 9% market share in the convergent billing segment.

Revenue management market
Defined as revenue from systems that support both prepaid and postpaid services on a single system, convergent billing now accounts for about 14% of the total billing market, and it continues to expand as new service types require the provision of both prepaid and postpaid services. Made up
of different telco billing sectors, the revenue management market generated a total revenue of $6.46billion in 2011 - up by 5.4% in 2010. A contributory factor for that growth has been the expansion in convergent billing deployment.

Convergent growth
‘With the expansion of convergent data services and telco operators looking to build better cost-efficiencies into their payment models, single platform convergent billing has exploded in the past few years. Not only has growth in convergent system sales exceeded our expectation, it has also had an impact on sales of existing prepaid and postpaid solutions,’ said Justin van der Lande, Senior Analyst at Analysys Mason.

‘Orga Systems has a strong convergent billing solution with multiple deployments. It is well positioned in real-time charging overall, and its recent investments in mediation and complex rating will help drive growth in this business. Its product set covers prepaid and postpaid requirements, with its convergent solution. A customer looking to transform its system could use Orga Systems,’ he added.

Single platform delivery
‘Communication service providers are looking for the benefits of convergent real-time billing, building flexibility and ease of use into their customer centric real-time business models.’ said Ramez Younan, CEO, Orga Systems.

‘Our extensive portfolio of real-time convergent solutions offered in a single platform helps telco operators, utilities, energy and telematic industries to run a better business in a connected world where use of devices connected to the mobile network is growing rapidly. So we’re really pleased that our success has been documented as a key player in the key convergent billing sector in Analysys Mason’s yearly report.’ Younan continued.

In Analysys Mason's new
Convergent Billing segment, Orga Systems has achieved rank 4 alongside companies including Amdocs, Comverse and Ericsson.
